The goal of the MalleoTrain Plus ankle support is to help relieve pain in the ankle following post-traumatic injuries such as sprains, or for those suffering from osteoarthritis, arthritis, or ligament weakness. Stabilizing support is increased due to the figure 8 strapping of the brace, while the two elastic pads of the brace prevent lateral twisting of the ankle. Overloading of the joint during sport and activity can force movement that further harms or injures the ligaments and tissues of the ankle, but the MalleoTrain Plus works to prevent this type of force without severely restricting mobility. The compression sleeve massages ankle tissue which increases circulation and decreases swelling in the ankle.
